| John L. Petersen is considered by many to be one of the most informed futurists in the world. He is best-known for writing and thinking about high impact surprises (wild cards) and the process of surprise anticipation. His current professional involvements include the development of sophisticated tools for anticipatory analysis and surprise anticipation, long-range strategic planning and helping leadership design new approaches for dealing with the future. |

He has led national non-profit organizations, worked in sales, manufacturing, real estate development, and marketing and advertising, mostly for companies he founded. A graduate electrical engineer, he has also promoted rock concerts; produced conventions; and worked as a disc jockey, among other things.
Mr. Petersen’s government and political experience include stints at the National War College, the Institute for National Security Studies, the Office of the Secretary of Defense, and the National Security Council staff at the White House. He was a naval flight officer in the U.S. Navy and Navy Reserve and is a decorated veteran of both the Vietnam and Persian Gulf wars. He has served in senior positions for a number of presidential political campaigns and was an elected delegate to the Democratic National Convention in 1984. He was twice the runner-up to be Secretary of the Navy.
In 1989, Petersen founded The Arlington Institute (TAI), a non-profit, future-oriented research institute. TAI operates on the premise that effective thinking about the future is impossible without casting a very wide net. The “think tank” serves as a global agent for change by developing new concepts, processes and tools for anticipating the future and translating that knowledge into better present-day decisions. Using advanced information technology, a core group of bright thinkers and an international network of exceptionally curious people along with simulations, modeling, scenario building, polling and analysis, Arlington helps equip leaders and organizations from many disciplines with tools and actionable perspectives for dealing with uncertain times.
An award-winning writer, Petersen’s first book, The Road to 2015: Profiles of the Future was awarded Outstanding Academic Book of 1995 by CHOICE Academic Review, and remained on The World Future Society’s best-seller list for more than a year. His Out of the Blue: How to Anticipate Wild Cards and Big Future Surprises book was also a WFS best-seller. His latest book, A Vision For 2012: Planning for Extraordinary Change, was published in 2007. Mr. Petersen’s coauthored article, The Year 2000: Social Chaos or Social Transformation?, was one of the most highly acclaimed writings on Y2K. His 1988 book-length report The Diffusion of Power: An Era of Realignment was used at the highest levels of American government as a basis for strategic planning. He has also written papers on the future of national security and the military, the future of energy and the future of the media.
Petersen is a past board member of the World Future Society, wrote on the future of aviation for Professional Pilot magazine and was Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Charles A. and Anne Morrow Lindbergh Foundation. He is a former network member of the Global Business Network and a fellow of the World Academy of Art and Science. A provocative public speaker, he addresses a wide array of audiences around the world on a variety of future oriented subjects. When he is not writing or speaking, Petersen invests in and develops resources for large, international projects and advanced technology start-up companies. He lives in the Washington, D.C. area in the eastern panhandle of West Virginia.

Tokyo-based artificial intelligence startup Sakana AI today unveiled what it says is the first generative AI model in the world designed to conduct scientific research on its own.
The model, called AI Scientist, is the result of a collaboration with scientists from the University of Oxford and the University of British Columbia. Sakana says it has the potential to automate many of the processes involved in scientific discovery. According to its creators, The AI Scientist is based on large language models that are able to mimic the scientific discovery process, beginning with idea generation, then running experiments, and writing full scientific papers that outline their discoveries. In the last three years healthcare technology professionals have been using artificial intelligence (AI) to their advantage and using it to narrow down diseases in patients quickly and precisely. From achieving over 90 percent accuracy in AI predicting lung disease to even general AI models predicting the potential of diseases even before conventional diagnoses have been made, the technology has developed at a fast pace today.
Now, engineering researchers from Middle Technical University (MTU) in Baghdad, Iraq, and the University of South Australia (UniSA), Adelaide, Australia accomplished a breakthrough in training machine learning algorithms to spot diseases via tongue color analysis. A 98 percent accuracy rate was achieved in predicting different diseases when the AI algorithm examined the color of the human tongue. According to a statement by the scientists, the AI model diagnosed diabetes, stroke, anemia, asthma, liver and gallbladder conditions, COVID-19, and a range of vascular and gastrointestinal issues. An engineering institute in India has developed a low-cost humanoid robot with many of its parts taken from the dumpyard. Named Anushka, the robot’s intelligence component is reportedly inspired by Vedic principles and claims to be the first to feature a beating heart.
The robot was developed by a team of five students and professors at the Krishna Institute of Engineering and Technology (KIET) in India’s northern state of Uttar Pradesh. The makers claim that the robot only costs around $2,400 (2 lakh rupees), which is significantly lower when compared to other models on offer. Currently, Anushka’s role is to welcome guests and answer their queries, offering helpful information. However, researchers aim to expand her capabilities beyond those of a robotic receptionist, exploring potential healthcare and consulting services applications. Watch here. |

In just a few months, the World Health Organization received approximately 20,000 reports of new eye disorders that occurred post covid-19 vaccination. These reports include 303 cases of blindness and 1,625 cases of visual impairment! The European drug monitoring agency had never recorded such a severe spike in eye injuries until after the experimental vaccines were launched. These reports were collected by VigiBase and analyzed by the Uppsala Monitoring Centre in Uppsala, Sweden.
About half of the new eye disorders were additionally reported to the U.K.’s Yellow Card adverse event reporting system, which was set up to monitor the influx of adverse events that were anticipated during this live, experimental vaccine study. Back in 2020, the vaccine makers had already entered into liability-free contracts with governments around the world. A study released today of excess mortality in 125 countries during the COVID-19 pandemic found the major causes of death globally stemmed from public health establishment’s response, including mandates and lockdowns that caused severe stress, harmful medical interventions and the COVID-19 vaccines.
“We conclude that nothing special would have occurred in terms of mortality had a pandemic not been declared and had the declaration not been acted upon,” the authors of the study wrote. Researchers from the Canadian nonprofit Correlation Research in the Public Interest and the University of Quebec at Trois-Rivières analyzed excess all-cause mortality data prior to and during the COVID-19 pandemic, beginning with the March 11, 2020, World Health Organization (WHO) pandemic declaration and ending on May 5, 2023, when the WHO declared the pandemic over. New Zealand has included enforcing vaccination uptake using law enforcement in its latest version of the country’s pandemic plans published on 12 July. A week earlier, Gates-funded and World Health Organisation favourite Dr. Peter Hotez suggested that Homeland Security and the Justice Department should be enlisted against “anti-vaxxers” in the US.
And internationally, Hotez said, NATO should be deployed against those who refuse to get vaccinated. The New Zealand government is planning to legalise forced vaccination. Some thought it might be fake or exaggerated. But it is confirmed by a document titled ‘New Zealand Pandemic Plan: A framework for action’ (”Plan”) published on 12 July by the New Zealand Ministry of Health. It confirms that people will be forced to be isolated or quarantined until they have undergone the “prescribed treatment.” The Plan sets out the government measures to be taken to prepare for and respond to a pandemic. It updates the ‘New Zealand Influenza Pandemic Plan: A framework for action 2017’. A new brain-computer interface (BCI) developed at UC Davis Health can translate brain signals into speech with an impressive accuracy of up to 97% claimed to be the highest accuracy ever achieved by such a system.

Globalist-"sponsored" scientists are so obsessed with controlling the mind that they conducted a study where a remote magnet would be able to manipulate the brain, even one's appetite, without any invasive procedure performed. Researchers at South Korea's Institute for Basic Science (IBS) are in the very early stages of development of hardware that utilizes nanoparticles to control the minds of mice. It is a brain remote control that they claimed is "long-range" and "large-volume" and switches using magnetic fields.
According to the "science experts," the technology dubbed Nano-MIND (Magnetogenetic Interface for NeuroDynamics), allowed researchers to control the emotions and appetites of mice from afar and could be used to treat neurological disorders like depression. They tested the "innovation" by inducing "maternal" instincts in their female test subjects. In another test, the researchers exposed a test group of lab mice to magnetic fields designed to reduce appetite, leading to a 10-percent loss in body weight, or about 4.3 grams. The scientists manipulated a complex network of over 100 billion neurons by magnetically twisting a tiny actuator to pull or push nanoparticles implanted in the mice's brains. Twenty years ago, professor Fredrik Almqvist, an organic chemistry professor at Umeå University in Sweden, was asked by his collaborating researchers at Washington University in St. Louis (WashU) to design a compound that would prevent urinary tract infections, which are often caused by Gram-negative bacterial infections.
Almqvist’s team created various compounds that were then screened for their effects. Rather than controlling Gram-negative bacteria adherence, they found some of the compounds were highly effective at killing various Gram-positive bacteria. These included multidrug-resistant strains classified as concerning threats by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). More here. |

Not yet. But researchers are busy. Turns out this is a whole burgeoning field of study. Not just a sci-fi fantasy. “We’re making progress in treating patients who have brain injuries and diseases.” That’s the major research declaration. But looking behind the curtain reveals more.
ONE: Attempts to build hybrid neural systems which combine natural biological and synthetic elements.
TWO: Using stem cells to create artificial neurons that can one day replace natural brain cells.
THREE: Making electronic circuits that mimic natural brain circuits.
FOUR: Producing brain chips that can “interface” with natural neurons.
A 2019 study in Nature Communications described the creation of artificial neurons which mimic the electrical activity of biological natural neurons.
FIVE: Attempts to build chips that process information just as the human brain does.

In it, Dr. Luo Qingquan uses a sophisticated control center to guide a set of robotic surgery tools to remove a tumor from a patient’s lung 3,000 miles away. Dr. Luo was seated in the Shanghai Chest Hospital on China’s Pacific Coast, while the patient was anesthetized on a bed inside a hospital in Kashgar, Xinjiang Autonomous Region.
The Chinese-made 5G Medbot allowed Luo to transmit his precision and decades of experience instantaneously across three time zones, ushering in an era of telesurgery that may save thousands in rural areas where lack of expert medical staff may have been a death sentence in previous years. According to Shanghai Daily, the Shanghai Chest Hospital is the nation’s first medical facility carrying out robot-assisted surgery, and it is also the facility carrying out the largest quantity of such surgeries in China. The chalkhill blue has some surprising claims to fame. For a start, it is one of the UK’s most beautiful butterflies, as can be seen as they flutter above the grasslands of southern England in summer. Then there is their close and unusual relationship with ants. Caterpillars of Lysandra coridon found across Europe exude a type of honeydew that is milked by ants and provides them with energy. In return, they are given protection in cells below ground especially created for them by the ants. Chalkhill blues thrive as a result, though their numbers are now coming under threat.
It is an extraordinary catalogue of features, to which scientists have now made a striking addition thanks to a pioneering new project, known as Psyche, which aims to sequence the genomes of all 11,000 species of butterflies and moths in Europe and reveal in fine detail how climate change and habitat loss are affecting them. As part of Psyche, scientists have found that, depending on location, the cells of the chalkhill blue have different numbers of chromosomes the packets of DNA that contain their genetic blueprint. In southern Europe, they have a total of 87 chromosomes, adding them one at a time as they head north until their northern limit is reached, where chalkhill blues have 90 chromosomes. A Maryland-based maker of solid-state batteries achieved a major milestone in commercializing its solid energy storage devices. ION Storage Systems (ION) achieved 800 cycles in its solid-state battery (SSB) cells without the need of compression or volume change.

The United States has joined 12 other nations in signing a World Economic Forum (WEF) agreement that seeks to engineer global famine by destroying the agriculture industry.
According to the agreement, which was drawn up by the WEF and the United Nations (UN), food production is causing “global warming” and must be eliminated. To “save the planet” from “climate change,” globalists insist, farms must be shut down across the world. Operation Mockingbird was a covert U.S. government operation run by the CIA to implant pro-US propaganda in American media and front organizations. Starting in the 1950s, the CIA began to hire and contract students and people in the media to write false stories, or embellish stories to favor the U.S government.
In 1967, it was proven in Ramparts magazine that even the National Student Organization was being funneled money by the CIA for festivals and other events. Using phoney companies and mysterious benefactors, these collectives created massive amounts of propaganda, using the average American student. It was blown open in 1977 when famed journalist Carl Bernstein, who also, with his partner Bob Woodward, exposed the Watergate scandal in 1974. In his 1977 piece, The CIA and the Media, Bernstein revealed that certain reporters not only were paid by the U.S government, they also engaged in more extensive relationships with the CIA, even sharing notebooks, and some were paid upwards of $500,000 for their work. A few nights ago, Azure, the Microsoft cloud hosting service, suffered a major outage, followed the next morning by the CrowdStrike outage. There is more to this than you know. Azure hosts many systems - websites, corporate servers, virtual machines, even LLMs. On one of these Azure machines, the WH was hosting an AI dataset and model used to generate Joe Biden (and other administration execs) videos and audio. They spent significant time and storage to build this out, giving them the ability to place him in all manner of realistic scenarios.
When Azure was taken down, the Joe Biden AI was also taken down. Data suggested this was an intrusion from a foreign actor. In a panic, the WH ordered CrowdStrike to push out an update that would enable them to track exfiltrated data from the Azure instance, in hopes of preventing it from getting out of their control. CrowdStrike rushed the job and ended up sending out a bad driver, which bricked a million Fortune 500 workstations. This created two problems - one, Biden was now a liability because a foreign actor likely had the AI module and could impersonate him. This meant he had to go. Two, they didn't have the model themselves and couldn't make any new Biden videos. This is why he has not appeared in public, why he dropped out, and why they are scrambling like chickens with their heads cut off. Read more here. |

It's no secret that Germany is going through a rather disturbing societal transformation. Thanks to its lawmakers, moral depravity and decay are taking over, while its economy is being deindustrialized. Berlin's suicidal subservience to the United States and its closest allies is putting the country into a position so bad that only a handful of other Washington DC's vassals and satellite states have it worse (namely the Kiev regime).
The German government first foolishly cut ties with Russia, causing a massive uptick in prices, which then ignited a crawling economic crisis that the country is still going through. Worse yet, thanks to its rather pathetic lack of sovereignty, Berlin is going through an economic decoupling from China and is also trying to impose it on the rest of the European Union. A massive cyber attack targeted the Central Bank of Iran, according to a report in the Saudi-affiliated Iran International. Other banks were also hit, with major disruptions to the banking system of the Islamic Republic. This is reportedly one of the largest hacks in the country's history.
Hackers stole information belonging to account holders in Iran's largest bank, as well as others, the report said. This comes as Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei has stressed that it is a religious duty to strike back against Israel, which Tehran blames for the assassination of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh on July 31. Iran and its proxies have vowed to strike Israel, with the US sending warships and warplanes to bolster regional defenses in the Middle East amid the threat. Read more here. |

The president of Columbia University announced her resignation late Wednesday, months after she authorized a violent police crackdown on student demonstrators urging the school to divest from Israel over the country’s devastating assault on the Gaza Strip.
Minouche Shafik said in her announcement that recent months have been “a period of turmoil where it has been difficult to overcome divergent views across our community.” Dozens of Columbia students were arrested and injured during a Shafik-approved police raid of a campus building in late April. A terrifying incident has emerged from Japan’s wrecked Fukushima-1 nuclear power plant. Around 25 tons of radioactive water leak has been reported from the plant’s Reactor Unit-2. The plant’s operator Tokyo Electric Power (TEPCO) discovered the leak on August 9.
However, the company maintained that water didn’t get into the environment as it flowed into the basement, according to reports. Crime in the UK has become so insane that employees at coffee shops and grocery stores are now wearing body cameras for their own safety. The government wonders why average citizens are taking to the streets to protest. What has changed among the demographic of the UK to cause violence toward these workers to increase by 50% in the past year?
Grocery chain Lidl has invested £2 million on body cameras. Employees in every store will be required to wear a body camera as a safety precaution. Popular coffee chain Pret A Manger has also begun asking their employees to wear a camera that will be turned on in “specific circumstances.” Shoplifting across the UK has doubled from last year, with 16.7 million recorded incidents, according to the British Retail Consortium (BRC). The BRC believes that thieves have looted over £2bn so far this year. More alarming, the BRC has reported 1,300 cases of violence and abuse against retail workers DAILY. Read more here. |

A water-powered electric bandage can heal serious wounds 30% quicker than conventional treatments, according to a new study. The inexpensive bandages use an electric field to promote healing in chronic wounds, which are slow to heal, if they heal at all—like sores that occur in some diabetes patients.
Doctors say such wounds are “particularly problematic” because they often recur after treatment and significantly increase the risk of amputation and even death. Read more here. |

A doctor who treats children in Ecuador is currently facing a 30-year prison sentence for creating explicit content involving minors and his prosecution is thanks to Rosco, the electronic sniffer dog.
Not a robotic dog, but a dog trained to detect the chemicals applied onto the surfaces of data storage devices, even SD cards no larger than a pinky nail. Rosco hails from Rogers County Oklahoma, where he and his partner Lieutenant John Haning work in the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. Read more here. |

New data from the James Webb Space Telescope suggests past measurements of the universe’s expansion rate may have been incorrect, renewing debate over one of the most controversial issues in astrophysics. According to new findings made possible by NASA’s premier space observatory, discrepancies in past measurements of the universe’s expansion rate may have resulted from systematic errors. This discovery potentially challenges alternative theories that look to new physics to account for such variances.
Past measurements have revealed discrepancies between what models predict about the rate of universal expansion, based on our understanding of the evolution of the cosmos, and actual measurements of its expansion over time. These measurements are primarily based on observations of nearby galaxies and predictions derived from studies of the cosmic microwave background (CMB), which is the “relic radiation” left over from the Big Bang. The issue involving the mismatch between the Hubble constant, which dictates that the movement of galaxies away from Earth occurs at speeds in proportion to their distance, and current measurements by astronomers have become known as the Hubble Tension, and it remains one of the most significant puzzles in modern cosmology. Pilots witnessed and filmed in detail several UFOs maneuvering across the night sky in ways impossible for a manmade plane.
Captain Ruud Van Pangemanan, who is also a vlogger, was flying a Boeing 747 from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia to Abuja, Nigeria at 5 a.m. recently when the stunning act crossed his view and that of his colleagues in the cockpit. Russian legislators have approved a bill allowing businesses to use Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies to settle international transactions. This development is part of Russia's strategy to evade Western sanctions enforced after the beginning of Russia's special military operation in Ukraine. The new law also updates existing regulations on cryptocurrency mining and the circulation of other digital assets while at the same time maintaining the ban on domestic cryptocurrency payments.
This law, which will come into effect in September, aims to address the significant delays in Russia's international transactions, especially with major trading partners such as China, India and the United Arab Emirates. Central Bank of the Russian Federation Gov. Elvira Nabiullina strongly advocated for this law and stated that the country's first nation-to-nation cryptocurrency transactions will occur before the year's end. Read more here. |

I first learned of Bohemian Grove in 1995, when I read the seminal book by MK ULTRA survivor, Cathy O'Brien, 'TRANCE Formation of America', in which Cathy describes being taken by her controller, along with her small daughter – who was then only 3 or 4 years old – for both to serve as sex slaves of the elite celebrants in attendance. This 2011 article describes the scene Cathy wrote of at this annual gathering 75 miles north of San Francisco:
