In 1989, Petersen founded The Arlington Institute (TAI), a non-profit, future-oriented research institute. TAI operates on the premise that effective thinking about the future is impossible without casting a very wide net. The *think tank* serves as a global agent for change by developing new concepts, processes and tools for anticipating the future and translating that knowledge into better present-day decisions.

    Past TransitionTalk Video Segments

Many people have asked us to video our TransitionTalks presentations and make them available online. That turns out to be harder than we thought, so we have begun interviewing our guest presenters in a program that we call Postscript. We try to do two segments for each guest, extracting their essential message throughout the conversation. Enjoy.

Berkeley Springs Transition Talks grew out of The Arlington Institute’s TAI Presents speaker series that began in the 1990’s in Arlington, Virginia and was moved to Berkeley Springs, West Virginia when TAI moved there in 2006.

BSTT is about global transition and the many different aspects that are coming together to redefine our world. Our underlying presumption is that humanity is experiencing an unprecedented shift in the evolution of the species that is exposing new personal and social capabilities and possibilities. It is our hope that this speaker series helps to illuminate the path going forward and opens minds to the new world that is emerging.

The Transition Talks program draws broadly from the eastern seaboard region, with attendees commonly driving from Virginia, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, the District of Columbia and West Virginia for the weekend presentations.

Although the talks are free and open to the public, attendees are encouraged to be a part of sustaining the program by making small contributions.

The Arlington Institute’s president, John L. Petersen, and volunteers Bobbie Rohn and Abby Porter work together to bring provocative and sometimes unusual speakers to the forum. They come from a broad spectrum of disciplines that, in the past, have included a landscape architect, physicist, remote viewer, alternative health physician, channelers, a paranormal researcher, financial analyst, futurist, dream researcher and a number of others. Almost all presenters are published authors. A complete list of previous presenters can be found here.

    Dr. John McMichael

    Dr. John McMichael Phd.

John McMichael, PhD, is the founder and CEO of Beach Tree Labs, Inc., a biopharmaceutical company focused on the discovery and early development of new therapeutic agents targeting unmet medical needs. These disorders range from herpes infections to chronic fatigue syndrome to urinary incontinence. His PhD is in virology and immunology from Oregon State University. He headed up the labs at one of the largest private veterinary research practices in the country, was a college professor for more than a decade, and now works out of a small lab on his form in New York state and a larger, more sophisticated lab in Providence, Rhode Island. He holds over 200 patents, has published in books and peer-reviewed journals, and is currently working with his team to begin formal FDA trials for product candidates for chronic traumatic brain injury and Ehlers-Danlos syndromes.

Good health is dependent on the appropriate transfer of information within and between cells. The informational and molecular disharmonies associated with disease can be reversed using appropriate therapeutic signals that stimulate the return to the normal state without adverse effects. One such signal molecule, SLO, has demonstrated clinical utility in a broad spectrum of indications that would at first glance appear to be unrelated. The underlying common thread that links these disorders is representative of the targets to which resonant molecular signals are directed.

    Larry Dossey, M.D.

    Larry Dossey M.D.

Throughout recorded history, people have claimed the ability to sense the future, on occasion, through premonitions, instinct, intuition, hunches, or “gut feelings.” This ability has been dismissed as anecdotal, fanciful, and impossible by conventional science. Recently, however, this dialogue has changed. Computer-based laboratory experiments, now replicated worldwide, indicate an innate ability to sense future developments.

“Premonition” comes from words meaning “forewarning.” Biologists suggest that precognitive abilities may have become innate because they serve a survival function. This is consistent with surveys indicating that most premonitions warn individuals of threatening events, such as natural and manmade disasters and ominous health events.

Interactive exercises and guided meditation will allow you to personally connect and energetically experience the activation of your own ECS, and travel through the timeline to witness the forging of this powerful relationship, explore significant advancements, reflect on living in the time of prohibition (and the ramifications to our health), and finally look into the future, as man evolves from Homo Sapien to Homo Spiritus.
